About Event

Welcome to Culture of Compassion: for Palestine!

Join us on Friday 2nd August at 19:00 at Hanbury Hall, Spitalfields for a night of conversation, music and dance raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians and Gaza Sunbirds.

This event will feature speakers, live music, food and beautiful conversation. We have talks and performances from Layla Maghribi, Sidney Jones and Kanga Motema. We look forward to seeing you there!

We will have some light bites provided by Palestinian caterer, Hiba Express. Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Raffle on the night with prizes from Rokit Vintage Brick Lane, Jen’s Plants and Florists, Hanbury Hall (and more TBA)

Layla Maghribi is a British-Arab writer and podcaster. She is the host of Third Culture Therapy, a podcast that explores mental well-being from a cultural perspective.

KANGA MOTEMA ('to endure' in Lingala) is a French and Congolese human rights professional and up-and-coming Afrohouse DJ based in South East London. Heavily influenced by his native Congo's captivating rhythms and hard-hitting drums, KANGA MOTEMA's musical style of play blends various indigenous sounds with contemporary electronic and house music from the African continent and its diaspora.
