Fundraising in the US + networking & open mic pitching
Welcome to the July 2024 edition of The London Startup Scene – not your average snooze-fest. Being the first with the open-mic concept in London, we are definitely the best (say hi to our copy cats😎) ! We usually pack in over 200 cool individuals: 60% founders, 15% investors, and the remaining 25%? The movers and shakers of the startup jungle. 🌪️🚀
Doors? They swing open at 6pm, but the real magic starts around 7pm.

Usually we start with an informal chat with one of our guests ( up to 30 mins) followed by 5-6 rounds of open mic pitching sessions.
This time our guests are 2 very well known investors:
Marc Cohen, a single partner at unbundled VC. Marc just got back from his trip to San Francisco where he met with 35 VC funds. He is joining us to share his findings on what US investors look for in startups and how to approach them.
Arif Damji, a principal at Conductive Ventures which is a US based VC but Arif himself is from the UK. Now spending more time back in the UK and trying to find deals here. He will share his prospective on how the US VCs are different to the UK ones.
Once the interview is over we will start our open mic pitching.

Wanna pitch? Only founders and investors are allowed. All you need to do is to raise your hand when we start.
Keep it snappy. You’ve got 60 seconds of fame.
Every 20 mins, 6 lucky (or unlucky, depends on nerves!) founders hit the stage for their minute in the spotlight. No prior bookings needed. We do it fair and randomly pick from the crowd of volunteers who are ready to rock the boat. Pitching is FREE. 🍻🎤
